Welcome to Health 100 Online.  You have chosen to take an online class and I think that is AWESOME!  Online learning gives you the opportunity to learn on your own time, at your own pace, which for many people is a great way to learn, but online learning is NOT for everyone.  In order to be successful, please make sure you are ready for success in an online class.  Make sure you have the time and personal skills needed for success, such as personal responsibility and great time management.  You must have access to a working computer with internet access.  Because the class is taken using a computer you need to have high level computer skills.   In this class we will be focusing on numerous healthy topics.  Our main goal of the class is to learn how to live a long happy healthy life.   We begin the class by expanding our personal definition of health and creating a plan to change one behavior that can positively impact our health. We will then learn about nutrition, exercise, weight management, stress, emotional health, alcohol/tobacco/drugs and addictions, avoiding injuries, relationships, contraception, immunity, infections, STD's, cardiovascular disease, cancer, environmental health, and end with a plan for our future through personal healthcare and successful aging.
