Professor Anderson is an experienced artist, poet and dancer who brings a lifetime of experience to the classroom. With a colorful history of work and life in the arts, Professor Anderson engages her students in discovering the personal stories of the artists she and they admire. In 2015, Professor Anderson was elected interim chair of the performing arts department.
Description
This program consists of three courses that explore the theory and application of research-based best practices to help design an effective teaching and learning environment:
- Academic Integrity Training
- Canvas Basics
- Designing an Online Course
Participants who successfully complete this core track will receive a certificate of completion, as well as a digital badge of completion via Badgr. There is an optional path available for those who wish to participate in official QualityMatters (QM)™ training and certification.
Objectives
In this program you will learn to:
- Demonstrate the use of key signatures, meter, simple diatonic harmony, and historically traditional styles of music
- Demonstrate the use of chromatic harmony nonharmonic tones, compound meters and modulation
- Use the keyboard to realize common scales, triads and chord progressions
- Demonstrate the ability to identify common rhythms, harmonies and melodies by listening to them
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the physical attributes of sound (acoustics)
- Explain and demonstrate the commonly accepted principles of twentieth-century musical techniques
- Arrange and transpose music appropriate for classroom and performance needs
